Carpet Cleaning Service in Scottsdale, AZ

Most companies offer just one method of carpet cleaning.  At Integrity Clean, a carpet cleaning service in Scottsdale, Arizona, we offer all three (basic) methods of carpet cleaning, plus our own exclusive Showcase cleaning.  Offering all four methods allows us to better meet the needs of each individual customer.  Most carpet manufactures recommend that carpet be cleaned with a method which involves hot water extraction (also called steam cleaning).  The first two methods listed below meet that recommendation.  The other two methods do not meet that recommendation, and they are not as thorough, therefore we do not typically recommend them.  There are some situations however where one of those other two methods might be preferred.  The method we use most often is our Basic Steam (which is the second method listed below).

1. Showcase

This method is a variation of Steam Cleaning.  Showcase is an exclusive method developed by Integrity Clean and it is the most thorough method of carpet cleaning that there is. With this method, Integrity Clean uses a combination of additional steps to increase the amount of soil that is removed while leaving less (unwanted) residue behind.  With the use of these additional steps, we can get superior results, while leaving less chemicals behind and without over wetting the carpet!  This method is great for carpets that are heavily soiled, and for customers who simply want maximum results.  It cost approximately 25% more than our Basic Steam Cleaning.

Showcase Cleaning includes several unique steps as follows:

  1. Before the cleaning process begins, we determine which areas are noticeably soiled and will need more attention.
  2. We apply a Pre-Conditioner to ALL those areas that are noticeably soiled.
  3. We thoroughly Steam Clean all the areas mentioned in steps 1 & 2 above, using a high-quality mild detergent.
  4. After the noticeably soiled areas are cleaned, we go back and apply a Pre-Conditioner to ALL of the areas to be cleaned.
  5. We Steam Clean ALL areas using a mild detergent, spending more time (once again) on the areas that were most noticeably soiled. (In some cases, we Steam Clean using a rinsing agent, instead of a mild detergent, which helps rinse and neutralize the carpet (in a similar way hair conditioners and fabric softeners work).
  6. We Groom/Rake the nap. This lifts the nap and removes the footprints and machine marks. This helps the carpet to dry faster and improves the appearance.

2. Basic Steam

Do not let the name (“Basic”) fool you.  This is the method that we do most often, and it is done in a way that provides results that are superior to most other companies out there.  At Integrity Clean, our Basic Steam is not as thorough as Showcase Cleaning, however it is a close second!

[Sidebar: Steam Cleaning is the most widely used method in the industry. It is sometimes referred to as (and possibly more accurately called) Hot Water Extraction.  For the most part, “steam cleaning” and “hot water extraction” mean the same thing.]

Our Basic Steam includes some additional steps that many companies may skip or overlook.  Our Basic Steam includes the following steps:

  1. We apply Pre-Conditioner to ALL areas that are to be cleaned. Most companies apply pre-conditioner to the heavy traffic areas only.  Integrity Clean has learned over the years that the use of pre-conditioner on all areas greatly improves the results.
  2. We thoroughly Steam Clean all areas to be cleaned (with a minimum of two passes) using a high-quality mild detergent. Some companies use a minimum of just one pass.
  3. We give special (extra) attention to all noticeably soiled areas, not just the very worst areas. This is done by taking extra cleaning passes and/or slower passes.
  4. We Groom/Rake the nap after the cleaning is complete. This lifts the nap and removes the footprints and machine marks.  This helps the carpet to dry faster and improves the appearance.

3. Dry-Cleaning  (Bonnet Cleaning)

[Sidebar: This method is commonly called “Dry-Cleaning”, however (whether done by Integrity Clean or another company) it is actually a wet process.]

The amount of moisture used is very minimal, so the carpet tends to dry very quickly, therefore causing it to be one of the dryer methods. The use of the word “Dry” is appealing to consumers who have had a bad experience in the past where the carpet was over-wet and took a long time to dry. With this method, a cleaning solution (water-based) is lightly misted onto the carpet with the use of a pump-up (garden type) sprayer or an electric sprayer. After about 5-10 minutes of “dwell-time”, a bonnet (a thick round absorbent pad) is used on the bottom of a rotating floor scrubbing machine to absorb the cleaning solution along with soil.  The main advantage of this method is that it dries very quickly. A disadvantage is that it is less thorough than other methods.

4. Shampoo Cleaning  (Rotary Shampoo Cleaning)

[Sidebar: This is the oldest method of carpet cleaning. This was virtually the only method used for carpet cleaning until the introduction of steam cleaning in the 1970s.]

Shampoo cleaning is a method where a shampoo machine applies a carpet shampoo solution onto the carpet and agitates the fibers to loosen the soil which is then suspended in the solution. The shampoo solution is allowed to dry to a powder and then vacuumed afterwards with a normal vacuuming. Shampoo cleaning is beneficial in some situations however this method is less thorough than Showcase Cleaning or Steam Cleaning.

About Our Equipment

All Equipment is not the same.  When it comes to steam cleaning carpet and upholstery, there are two basic types or categories of carpet cleaning machines, truck-mounted units, and portable machines.   As a rule, truck-mounted units provide more pressure, more heat, and better suction, which are all beneficial in obtaining good results.  Having said that however, an experienced technician who knows what he/she is doing can do a much better job with a portable than an inexperienced or careless technician can with a truck-mount.

[Sidebar: Regardless of the type of equipment that is used, it is also particularly important that the equipment is maintained and in good working order.  A high-quality machine with clogged filters will perform worse than low-quality machine that is in good working order.  This is just one area/example in which an experienced technician, and one who is conscientious, can make a big difference in the final results.]

At Integrity Clean, we clean almost all carpet with our truck-mounted machine, however we also have a portable machine which enables us to do jobs in high rise buildings and multi-floor condos where a truck-mounted machine is not feasible.  Our flexibility makes Integrity Clean the go-to carpet cleaning service in Scottsdale and surrounding areas.

Pet Spots & Pet Odors

All pet spots are not the same. The type of carpet fiber, the health of the animal, and the length of time since the spot occurred are all contributing factors to whether a pet spot can be removed successfully. Also, food coloring in pet food can make the removal of feces or vomit much more difficult. Cleaning pet spots soon after they occur increases the chance of removal. Whether it is urine, vomit, or feces, we have a wide variety of products available to combat almost any type of pet spot. When your pet has an accident, Integrity Clean is available to help, even if it is just to clean-up a single spot.

[Sidebar: “Spots” vs. “Stains’ – As with many other types of spots, most pet spots will come out completely, however, in some cases they may be permanent. A permanent spot is referred to in the industry as a “stain”.]

When it comes to pet odor Integrity Clean has a variety of deodorization products to help counteract and/or neutralize various types of odors, whether they are from pets or from other sources.

If you contact us for cleaning services, please be sure to mention in advance if you have an issue with pet odor!
